Taco Medic

Taco Medic

Located on the lake end of Searle Lane in central Queenstown is this tasty Taqueria. Beginning in a small fishing village in Mexico, a man renown as a legend for making fresh, high quality tacos passed on his knowledge of making the best Masa Tortillas to village members.

One early morning while fishing, the sky darkened and a great Pacific storm rolled in. He was taken on an uncontrolled month long journey across the mighty Pacific. When the storm finally cleared, he drifted with a current for many days, eventually washing up on an unfamiliar coast line. Very tired and weak, he desperately searched for a Taqueria to replenish himself.

Approaching the nearest eatery, he realised he was no longer in Mexico. He had landed on the shores of New Zealand, where there was no Taqueria. Through meeting the generous local people of the land, who introduced him to its vast and abundant fresh food, the Taco Medic came up with an idea of blending the best of the two food cultures. With this glorious epiphany, a menu was born. It just so happens, that he has started this revolution in the majestic town of Queenstown.

Taco Medic’s style of food business aims to sit right in a little sweet spot in the industry called the fast casual segment. This has a focus on offering people an alternative to the traditional fast food or slow over the top high end restaurant. It offers the best of both worlds with the best aspects of each to create the highest quality artisan product in a casual, speedy, and interactive way. Meat is slow cooked before service and fresh fish and tortillas are cooked from raw to order. The tacos are then loaded with fresh cut fruit and vegetables and drizzled with their secret tasty sauces to ensure your taste buds experience a Mexican fiesta.
