Bali is infamous for it’s breathtaking beaches, alluring history and intoxicating night life. So when Philly Rillstone, our Bali expert visited to review Amazing Accom’s latest properties we decided to get her opinion on why she thinks Bali is a must visit destination.

Ubud Art Market

Ubud Art Market

The Ubud Art Market, known by the locals as ‘Pasar Seni Ubud’ is a lively and unique experience not to be missed when visiting Bali. Make your way through the bustling market and uncover unique hand made sculptures or clothing etc. Much like any street market, haggling is expected and even encouraged as part of the exciting experience of shopping in the market.

Monkey Forest

Monkey Forest

The Ubud Monkey Forest is an infamous nature reserve in Ubud, Bali overflowing with monkeys roaming freely. Inside you will find sacred temples and status surrounded by 60 acre tropical forest. Even though the Monkeys can be very friendly and harmless, they can also be a little intimidating, therefore this experience is not for the faint-hearted.

Day Spas

Bali is known for its decadent and therapeutic spa treatments so you can imagine how good a Balinese massage in Bali would be. Need I say more? This is a MUST do!

What are your travel essentials for Bali?

Bali is situated very close to the equator, which means it has a balmy warm climate all year-round. So I suggest packing sunscreen/sun protection that is at least over 30 SPF & a big hat. Due to its tropical climate, small insects like mosquitoes are unavoidable so pack some insect repellent. Everything else is pretty obvious – swimsuit, flip flops, sunglasses and light breathable clothes (cotton is a great choice).

You will find affordable flights and accommodation packages in abundance and the cost of living, including meals and shopping, is quite cheap. The rich culture and heritage adds to it’s magnificent beauty and intrigue. Shopping in the markets is unlike anything I have ever experienced. It’s amazing what you will find in the bustling markets scattered throughout Bali. Needless to say the beaches are just stupendous. Seminyak beaches can be a little crowded but areas like Sanur enjoys private untouched beaches, making it ideal for those who desire a laid back experience. I believe Bali is an amazing place that everyone should explore in their lifetime.
